Another busy fall season for chapters is in the books. Over half of our ANFP chapters held fall meetings, and many of them incorporated an ethics session as part of their program. Some of our chapters chose to include content on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to help members meet the ethics CE requirement for their continuing competence goals. Offering DEI related topics to members not only helps to support their organizations and professional development, but it also supports the mission and vision of ANFP and cultivates a welcoming environment. ANFP offers several resources for members as well as chapters to advance the DEI initiative and educate members and encourage them to take action.
DEI Guiding Principles – The ANFP DEI Committee developed a set of guiding principles to support the development of a welcoming environment for our members, industry partners, and colleagues. To learn more about our guiding principles, what they mean for you, and how to apply them, register for our upcoming webinar, taking place on Wednesday, December 4, at 2:00 PM CT. DEI Toolkits – ANFP offers several toolkits that aim to educate and celebrate various holidays, observances, and cultures. There are toolkits for members to educate themselves, as well as toolkits with actionable items to raise awareness and participate in a cultural movement. Additionally, there are toolkits specific to chapters that offer suggestions on how to incorporate these significant dates and events into your next chapter meeting.
DEI Education – There is a variety of DEI education available to members throughout the year, such as live education at our meetings, CE courses, webinars, as well as at chapter meetings for those that choose to incorporate this topic into their agendas. To learn about our available courses, use our Find CE tool. You can also attend our monthly Leadership Happy Hour calls to learn more about the DEI sessions being offered at chapter meetings.
